Formed in 2010, Shaftesbury Community Choir is a very popular choir which welcomes everyone of all ages and abilities. You do not need to feel you’re any good at singing at all; a choir is a great example of how the whole can be greater than the parts! The emphasis is on singing for fun rather than performance although members do enjoy taking part in local community events such as fund raising for the local hospital or being part of the Festival of the Voice at Stourhead. There is no audition, no requirement to read music and anyone is welcome to join at any time with no need to attend every session. It’s £3.00 a session which includes refreshments.

Shaftesbury Community Choir is a member of Making Music which is the UK's number one organisation for leisure time music, with around 3,500 member groups representing around 200,000 music makers.
We are very grateful to Shaftesbury Town Council who support us financially when we meet in person in the Town Hall through a community grant.
